Our projects have included:
Gobby Base – puppet club for 7 – 11 year-olds in Derwentside
with dance, drama and music including a programme of shows
well supported by the local community
Venetian mask-making in York in partnership with the National
Centre for Early Music involving all ages
Festival and carnival work across the region including
Derwentside, Teesside, Weardale, Trimdon, Ashington and
Gateshead
Shine – week-long residency in October 2004 for 8 – 13-year-
olds using ultra violet light, art and puppetry
Nightlights – multi-arts community project focussing on
community safety in Derwentside involving a celebration
procession for the local community with lanterns made during
workshops for 8 – 16-year-olds
Phoenix Fest – multi-disciplinary arts project for 8 – 11-year-
olds involving physical theatre, soundscape, arts technology,
creative writing and visual arts
Big Bang Festival – event attended by around 300 local people
in Blackhill Park, Consett with head dresses, explosive willow
weaving and d-j workshops
